Here we are near dinner time on Friday, 2026-01-09, and we’re happy to announce that Hookmark Version 7.0 BETA (6490; Integration v. 403) is now available for testing..
This new release introduces the Clean My Links feature! When enabled (which it is by default) when you copy or hook a link, Hookmark will first try to clean the link, removing URL cruft such as tracking parameters. There’s a new Clean My Links tab in Hookmark’s Settings window.
On that tab, Hookmark Pro users can add their own URL patterns to augment or replace how Hookmark cleans URLs matching particular patterns.

This does not contain a complete set of URL cruft removal rules. It will be an ongoing project to extend and refine the rules. Hookmark will deliver updates to the cruft removal rules using the same mechanism as it currently uses to silently update its integration scripts (if enabled).
We welcome your feedback regarding URLs that it doesn’t currently handle well, which will improve the software.
