Hookmark 6.5 available

Hookmark 6.5 is available as a download.

  • Hookmark no longer relies on Microsoft App Center; updates are now hosted on https://hookproductivity.com.
  • Hookmark now uses Firebase Crashlytics for its crash reporting (if you opt in).
  • Updated integration with Calendar app.

You’ll need this update to have future in-app updates.

This build is not relevant to Setapp users.

Could you please let me know if there is a timeline for the implementation of the request I made a year ago? My daily work heavily depends on this feature, and I hope to receive your attention and response.

I just got a notification to update on MacOS 15.2, but as the update tries to install it complains “not properly signed” and then does not complete.

(Thought you would want to know.)

thanks, @ppetto. We took down that 6.5 build from Microsoft App Center the other night right after posting it as there was a signing issue. For now, users need to use the download link.

there’s no specific timeline on this one yet. To date we have been reluctant to keep the context window open after opening one or more links. It might be best to support this kind of thing using multi-select. As noted in the earlier response to this, we do have Open All Hooked Items.

the in-app update issue is now resolved.

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate your help.

Just checking if this one breaks compatibility with Big Sur? I tried installing and when I run it I get a dialog saying “The application “Hookmark.app” can’t be opened. 6”. I tried the binary from within the package and in the shell it said “dyld: Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/QuickLookUI.framework/Versions/A/QuickLookUI”.

Looking at Apple’s dev docs, QuickLookUI seems to be a macOS 12+ library. Big Sur tops out at 11.7.10.

If this does break compatibility with older systems, it would be great if a) that could be flagged, and b) give info on how to safely downgrade to the last compatible version. Am a big fan of Hookmark but the laptop I need to run it on – at the moment! – is old and, as you know, Apple intentionally drops support for older hardware, even if it can technically run the newer versions.

(Update: I downloaded 6.4.1 and it works fine; nothing lost!)

Cheers!

Kirk.

Thank you for reporting this issue and sorry about this, @kb123 .

We will fix the problem.

It is great that you solved the problem yourself, :+1:

For any users that work on Big Sur or older version os macOS, please wait for next release. If you have updated already, please revert to Hookmark 6.4.1. You can download it from the following link:

Thank you

It would be even better if multi-select is supported. My use case is: I use Alfred and Hookmark together as a global bookmark manager. I only want to open a few specific records under a category, rather than all the records.
