I often link external resources to specific Youtube videos. When I invoke Hookmark from the external resource, the Youtube bookmark comes up correctly. BUT… if I am on a Youtube video that has been hooked and I invoke Hookmark, from there - the correct external links are shown ALONG WITH other bookmarks that are not related to that Youtube video. See the example image… three additional bookmarks are displayed that are NOT related to the hooks I’m looking for. This happens with a number of Youtube video hooks I have created.
Thank you for reporting this issue, @arthurwerry .
If you invoke Hookmark over one of those three bookmarks, will the youtube URL show in the Hooked list?
No. Focus on the bottom bookmark “Watch: Defending the Reformation” … it is hooked to the 670 YouTube video “How to Study the Bible.”
Notice when I focus on the Omnifocus bookmark, it correctly only shows the hook to the Defending the Reformation YouTube video…. NOT the 670 YouTube “How to Study the Bible”
Another example…
The top two bookmarks belong together alone. You can see the four additional connections that were not created by me.
Additionally, the two Website Builder bookmarks were linked together at least 3 years ago, if not longer. The Studying the Bible bookmark was created yesterday.
@arthurwerry , could you please update your Hookmark script and see if the issue is fixed(Hookmark preference window->Update->Check now)? You might need restart Hookmark. If you have a lot of bookmarks, Hookmark needs some time to update the database.
Thank you
Yes and no.
This is one of the examples that had the extra non-related bookmarks added to this simple hook between a YouTube bookmark and an Omnifocus task. As you can see… the extra bookmarks are gone, so that much is fixed.
But if I invoke Hookmark while focused on the OF task, the YouTube hook is correctly displayed. But if I invoke Hookmark on the YouTube bookmark, the OF Task is not shown.
Thank you, @arthurwerry .
Could you please
(1)Invoke Hookmark on the OF task, select the hooked youTube link, do “Copy link”
(2)Invoke Hookmark on the youTube page, do “Copy link”
and post the two links here?
Thank you
Thank you, @arthurwerry .
The first one is clickable. But the second one is not. Could you please do “Copy As Markdown Link” and post them here?
It was in Markdown… and when I tried it again, it still wasn’t clickable. Here is the text of the hook without the [‘s and (‘s

Sorry for the confusion. I meant the youTube URL, not omniFocus URL.

Sorry for the late reply, @arthurwerry .
If you go to YouTube page, invoke Hookmark, then do “Copy URL”.
Invoke Hookmark on the OF task, then do “Hook to Copied Link”. In the Hookmark, what do you see?
Then go to the YouTube page, invoke Hookmark window, can you see OF task?
Thank you
After I copied the Youtube URL, I went to OF and did the “Hook to copied link” and here is what I see, which is correct. They are linked.
Finally, when I go back to the Youtube page and invoke Hookmark, this is what I see:
The OF task is missing from this side.
Weird.
I just tried linking these two URL together. It works.
After you updated the script, have you restarted Hookmark? If not, could you please restart Hookmark and see if it fixes the issue?
Thank you
I am pretty sure I had restarted Hookmark, but just to be sure, I restarted again and the problem remains.
Both are seen from the OF side but when looking from the Youtube side, the OF task is not seen.
Unless trying to get to the bottom of this has value for you in improving the program, feel free to hang it up and chalk it up to a weird anomoly that isn’t a bug in the program. It’s not worth you spending valuable time on this.
Thank you for your patience, @arthurwerry .
Is this the only bookmark that has the problem? If yes, then we don’t need worry about it.
Could you please try delete these two bookmarks and link them again? You can delete the bookmarks via action menu→Advanced→Delete in Hookmark.
Thank you
Yes, when I delete the hooks and reconnect them, it works perfectly.
No, this is not the only instance. It appears to be an issue that I had with Youtube videos and OF tasks. I pulled up another one and it was exactly the same. From the OF side, both hooks are seen. From the Youtube side, the OF is not seen.
I have a dozen or more examples of this combination, every one displays the exact same problem.
HOWEVER, whatever was causing the problem must have been fixed because I just created several Youtube to OF hooks and they work fine now.
It is a mystery but we can put it to bed for now, it seems.
Thank you, @arthurwerry .
