I’m not a huge user of attachments, especially if links will suffice and BLOBs are involved. But they do deserved a place in the digital landscape. My goal is to not have a copy of the actual attachment stored in the apps db. Recently I’ve been giving a try to using a hookmark file to create the attachment in a db based note app. The apps attachment symbol/control contains only a hook link to the folder containing the desired file. It sort of works but where the out-of-the-box attachment opens with quick-look, preview, open, or open with. in the apps window, I can open only in a separate window. Agenda is the app I’ve been using as the guinea pig.
