User recommendations requested for Hookmark's recommendation system

We’ve recently improved the RELATED section of Hookmark’s context window. Hookmark now shows previously bookmarked items that share the same Hookmark tag as the title item.

We plan to improve Hookmark’s RELATED section to be a more intelligent recommendation system. For instance, when invoked in the Finder, it will show you more items that are bookmarked nearby (same folder or subfolders).

And instead of just showing content drawn from Hookmark’s bookmarks, Hookmark will be able to show you other information. For instance, when you invoke Hookmark on an item in Contacts, Hookmark will show you the links you’ve put in the contact itself. Instead of just showing the URL, it will show the name of the linked item. On a research paper in PDF, Hookmark will be able to show you the corresponding DOI page, and some of the papers that cite or are cited by this paper.

When invoked on a File in Finder, Hookmark may show other files that share the same Finder tag. Hookmark may do this kind of thing for other apps, such as OmniFocus.

We have many other recommendation rules in mind. But I’d like to turn it over to you to see if you have recommendations for Hookmark’s recommendation system.

First, I somehow missed this older post which I think is still relevant. It’s been a very distracting spring in an (interesting) time. The attention to related links is certainly appreciated here.

I religiously use the context windows “hooked / related” sections in every new or existing agenda note, OmniFocus, Devon, and other DB apps. What I miss occasionally is the link to a Hookmark file. It would be great if I could see those as well. access to the links pasted inside an Agenda note or other DB app would be absolutely great. There is the sandboxing to overcome but there must a permissions route. Apple loves those. I also use the badge. Could there be a way to open or move it to the cursor or similar. Anyway, I really do like the mentioned plans especially if there are detected links nearby perhaps once or twice removed. (deep)

I have to mention again Ness Labs. Some of the content is very pertinent and related to cognitive thinking. Plus the author is a fellow Canadian to you.
