Selecting some text in Skim and using Copy Link produces an address like the following:
hook://file/Xxu2eKZ1F?p=EERDL0km&n=5%20%2D%20Smith%202020%2Epdf#p=4&x=0&y=0&s=364&e=902
(Note that the address includes the URI-encoded name of the PDF file.)
When I rename the PDF file in Finder from, e.g., “5 - Smith 2020.pdf” to “Smith 2020.pdf”, the above deep link fails.
Specifically, it opens the correct document, but it does not select the text or scroll to the correct page.
I have confirmed that the address works if I manually change the URI-encoded name to the new name of the file.
The issue does not appear if the file is moved to another folder, but not renamed.
