If you have not done this already, please update asap to Hookmark 7.0.2. It works around an issue that causes some Hookmark installations to generate excessive network traffic when checking software updates.

Updating to 7.0.2:

  • Improves performance if you are affected
  • Reduces unnecessary network activity
  • Helps stabilize web service for all users
  • Brings you up to date with the latest bug fixes and features.

Even if you haven’t noticed an issue, updating now helps the entire Hookmark community. To prevent the update issue you can also disable automatic updates in the Updates Settings tab.

What is a typical amount of time to expect updates to appear in Setapp installations?

As with the above post: the Setapp version is still on V7.0.1, 8 days after this announcement. When will the update be circulated to Setapp, please?

7.0.2’s fix does not apply to Setapp.

The email telling me that I needed to update urgently didn’t mention that it didn’t apply to Setapp, hence my query. Would it be possible to include a comment whether a fix applies to all versions in future alerts to avoid confusion?

yes. next time we might simply update the Setapp version with another fix included, because many people asked about this. In fact, it’s rare for us to issue a fix for just one issue.

I would appreciate if you could sort this issues about updates between yourself. The support at Setapp does not now about the update, the urgentness and the we are supposed to use the download from the website. This took me now an hour to get to this point.
