OmniOutliner 6 document in DEVONthink 4 not applicable in hookmark

I’m having a problem with Hookmark 7 and an OmniOutliner file that’s been imported into a DEVONthink database. Up until HM version 7, I could open the file in OmniOutliner 6 and launch the Hookmark window from there. That no longer works; Hookmark tells me that the file either doesn’t exist or hasn’t been saved, neither of which is true. I mean, it used to work with OmniOutliner 6 as well. I recently updated OmniOutliner to v 6.0.4 and also enabled OmniLinks, but I don’t know how the latter might be relevant. It works with other files in their applications (PPT, etc.). Note: I didn’t run Hookmark from DEVONthink, but directly from OmniOutliner, PowerPoint, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Do you mean you are trying to open a hook://file… from Devonthink, and it does not work?

Thank you

No, I want to use hook://file… from OO on a file that is located in a DEVONthink Database. I just checked another OO file and this seems to work which is strange. But I also didn’t copy Omni Links for that document. For the document in question I did. Anything else is – I guess – the same, both documents are stored in the same DEVONthink database package.

If you invoke Hookmark on the document in Devonthink and do copy link, do you get the same link as the one in the file?

I get the DTP link as expected. btw: if I copy the finder link directly from OO via a global shortcut, the link is being copied. The HM window, however, shows this:

Just want to confirm, you can get the file link via global shortcut in Finder window.

Is this the only file that you can’t invoke Hookmark on it?

I am baffled. I tried from Finder (and it worked) and then tried again from inside of OO again (which failed before even after reboot) and that worked eventually. Yes, it was the only file that acted up but I cannot explain why.

I am experiencing something similar to this when I invoke the hook window on an open Omnioutliner 6 document I find it sometimes is unable to find a source link and in other cases it seems to work as expected.

During the times that hook cannot make a link through the hookmark window, I’ve noticed that I also can’t rename the file using the title bar drop-down arrow nor rename the file using file > rename menu. It just seems to be unresponsive, and I wondered if it was an Omnioutliner 6 glitch or an operating system glitch. My workaround when that happens is I’ve been grabbing the little icon in the title bar of the open OO6 document and dragging it to the hookmark menu bar icon to form a link, and that seems to work as does doing it directly from the finder. The problem’s inconsistent, and not reproducible 100% of the time, and it’s has me a bit perplexed as well.

But this is not a Devonthink specific problem for me, more an OO6 and Hookmark general issue.
