No Linkable Item Found in BusyContacts

I’m getting this error when I activate Hook on a selected contact in BusyContacts. Is this integration no longer supported? Any suggestions?

macOS 11.5.2, Hook 3.2.1 integration 176, BusyContacts 1.6

I’d recommend checking this out first: No Linkable Item in … – Hook. It usually solves that type of issue.

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately, that didn’t do it for me. I tried the following steps:

  1. Unchecking BusyContacts under Hook in Automation preferences and rechecked it.
  2. Unchecking BusyContacts under Hook in Automation preferences and rechecked it, then restarted both Hook and BusyContacts.
  3. Unchecking BusyContacts under Hook in Automation preferences and rechecked it, then restarted my Mac.
  4. Ran the command to reset Accessibility preferences for Hook and then restarted my Mac.

Any other suggestions? It also doesn’t work on a second Mac, and other apps I’ve work with Hook so far, so it seems to be just BusyContacts.

Sorry for the trouble.
Do you mean Hook works with BusyContacts on your another computer? Is your BusyContacts from App Store or from SetApp?

we’ve added support for the Setapp version of BusyContacts.

Just noticed a similar issue

Sorry about this issue, @anslogue_man .

Is your BusyContacts from App Store or from Setapp?

Thanks. It’s neither. It’s downloaded as standalone app from their website.

Sorry I just noticed that you are using BusyCal, not BusyContacts.

Did it work before? Or it never works.

Thank you

no, I am sorry, I missed this detail (BusyContacts vs. BusyCal) when searching for related topics.

Yes, it did work before and I used to use it extensively. Lately not so much, that’s why I only just noticed it.

I recently switched from Fantastical to BusyCal & BusyContacts purchased from BusyMac.Loving it. It actually feels and works like a grown-ups app as opposed to…the other ones! I tried them several years ago and wasn’t even slightly impressed. New developers.

I think it might be that you’re pasting a link into the BusyCal url box like you’re supposed to. Paste it in the notes section and it works fine.

I actually invoke the Hookmark context window on an item that gives me the said error

Could you please update your Hookmark script and see if the issue is fixed? (Hookmark preference window->Update->Check now)
script version 417.

You might need restart Hookmark.
