Linking to the App Store

I often bookmark App Store links for later consideration. Since the App Store hasn’t had a Wish List in years, it would be useful to invoke Hookmark and have it bookmark the app page link. However, it doesn’t appear to recognize App Store links. Is there a work around?

Great use case of Hookmark, @caruso. Thanks for sharing it!

there are different ways to do it, using App Store “share” feature. macOS does not expose the title of items in App Store links, it just gives the URL. So a ‘rename’ step is currently required.

1. Copy Link then Focus on Link in Clipboard

  1. In App Store focused on the App, click the share button (top right corner),
  2. choose Copy Link
  3. Invoke Hookmark
  4. choose Focus on Link in Clipboard – Hookmark
  5. Rename the link

2. Share directly to Hookmark

First make sure that Hookmark is enabled in your share sheets: Use the Share menu on Mac - Apple Support (CA). Then

  1. In App Store focused on the App, click the share button (top right corner)
  2. Choose Hookmark
  3. Rename the bookmark to match the app’s name.
