Hookmark Pal error: "Bad status code of http response"

I have just installed Hookmark Pal 1.0.2 (1) on my iPhone 14 (iOS 26.1 beta 3) and get this error:

same on my iPad

Any workaround known to make HookmarkPal run?

I’m experiencing the same error on my iPhone Air (iOS 26.0.1) here in South Korea.

I had to purchase a Hookmark Pal subscription (with 7 days free trial): Hookmark Pal initial page → Subscribe.

Afterwards the error was gone.

This app should function even in the free version. It’s a relief that purchasing solved the problem, but the fact that the free version doesn’t work can still be an issue.
