Hookmark integration v. 247 is now available with support for Microsoft OneNote Mac App Links

Hookmark integration v. 247 is now available with support for Microsoft OneNote Mac App. v246 had updated InDesign support

How to get the updated integration

Hookmark’s automatic software update (if enabled) automatically updates Hookmark’s integration scripts without you needing to relaunch Hookmark. Using Hookmark’s Check for App Updates and Update Scripts command also updates the scripts, without you needing to relaunch Hookmark.

For this particular update to take effect, after updating your scripts, you will need to restart Hookmark. (Normally this is not required).

This update requires a valid Updates license. Or Pro users can edit updated integration directly.

Links for Microsoft OneNote Mac App

You can now use Hookmark to copy links to Microsoft OneNote entries.

Per the Hookmark Forum, Microsoft OneNote does not have AppleScript or other client-side automation so Hookmark relies on UI scripting to control it.

This means that Hook to New > OneNote is not possible (until Microsoft improves OneNote automation). See the What’s a Link-Friendly App and Why Does Being Linkable Matter?. Compare the Manifesto for Ubiquitous Linking.

Hookmark’s uses Microsoft OneNote’s Notebooks menu > Pages submenu > Copy Link to Page menu item. That OneNote command puts two weird links in the clipboard, like this:

Hookmark chooses the second link.

Links to Adobe Indesign documents

In software integration release v246 we updated Indesign. If you have upgraded to Hookmark 5 Public Beta 4, then you already have the Indesign update.

FYI this does work. but it requires the page (on OneNote) to have a title. Otherwise, the link will open OneNote but it will not open the specific/desired page.
