When I click the button indicated by the arrow, instead of opening the selection menu, the app immediately crashes. This didn’t happen in the previous version. I’m not sure if this is just happening on my end or if it’s an issue with this update.
Could you please tell us the macOS version and mac model?
Could you please go to /Applications/Utilities/Console,click on Crash Reports, and see if there are any crash reports for Hookmark? If yes, could you please send the report to support@cogsciapps.com?
This is happening to me as well the update has made Hookmark useless. Cannot access old hooks or create new ones. Appears to be on all apps. I cannot even access the settings with out window shutting. I am running macOS 15.8 on a Mac Studio M1 Max. I have no crash reports for Hookmark under Crash Reports in Console. To me it appears that Hookmark is not crashing as it remains in the menu bar. If I want to quit it I have to go to Activity Monitor and force quit. Is there anyway to roll back to the previous version?
I have two computers running Hookmark, I am pretty sure I updated both but cannot get to settings to verify version.
I have checked my MacBook Pro running macOS 15.8 and it behaves the same. Nothing works old hookmarks show but nothing happens when you click them.
On a fresh reboot Hookmark appeared to work. I was able to create a hook but then it breaks and reverts to nothing working. No access to Hooks.
I can use hotkey to open the Hookmark window. Then the cmd +, will open settings or cmd + ’ will open the About window. Opening the Hookmark window and using the copy link hotkey does copy link and opening Hookmark window and paste link did appear to create the link but links do nothing when you try to click on them.
All apps so far. I did just figure out that if I use hotkey to open bookmark window I can click on links there and they work. Now some of the links are working from the context window which would just close in the past? Everything is erratic - mail and pdf and finder hooks now appear to work but Obsidian hooks do not.
I think I am going to go back to earlier version as it was working perfectly before the update, But if I remember correctly the MacOS 15.8 update was around the same time as the Hookmark update?
If I rollback should I delete Hookmark from the apps folder or just run install over the 7.3 version?
After all my years using Hookmark never had a login to forum. It is now saying I can not post anymore due to being a new user so I added edit here.
I rolled back to Version 7.2.1 (6640; Integration v. 431) and everything appears to be working normal. The Hookmark context window does not shut when clicked and new links are created. Old links are now available and working as well. Will be interested in what the problem is and causing the erratic behavior.
Hi Luc, thanks for the fast response. I’m on macOS -Tahoe (26.6.2). And indeed my Hookmark rollback was to 7.2.2 (6644) 431, I just typed the wrong version down in my previous post.
I am also now running Version 7.2.2 (6644; Integration v. 431) without issue. Inadvertently missed that release yesterday when I rolled back to v 7.2.1
