Hookmark 6.9 is now available

I look forward to every new release. Hookmark 6.9 was no exception. We released it on Monday April 28.

There’s a big change: Hookmark 6.9 by default launches in foreground mode. This does not affect the way the Context window works. It means Hookmark appears in the

  • Application Switcher app
  • Force Quit menu, and
  • Dock.

This in particular, means Hookmark’s Bookmarks window is accessible from these means. That’s very handy. Also, you will no longer need to rely on the gear menu to access Hookmark’s global commands, which we’ve substantially expanded in this release.

If you want Hookmark to revert to background mode, uncheck Show Dock Icon in Hookmark’s Advanced Settings.

There are several other improvements in Hookmark 6.9. For more information about Hookmark 6.9, please refer to the release notes.

by the way, when I publish release notes, I have a local markdown folder. I hook the release notes web page to the ancillary information. The web of links grows incrementally as I link little bits, which become visible from any node in the INDIRECTLY HOOKED section.

this is an update to the original text which erroneously referenced the “Show Hookmark Badge” General setting.

thank you for allowing or enabling to choose where .hookmark files are stored! Much appriciated.

By the way, the command + , (⌘,) settings shortcut, stopped working. Easy fix, for the time being, I added an App shortcut in macos settings.
