Can this be used with the Setapp version of Hookmark? I’m more than happy to pay for the iOS app, I just kept having difficulty during the beta test. Couldn’t seem to share hooks between them, which may be Setapp – or could just be that I foolishly have multiple Apple Accounts and entirely lose track of which is which.

Yes, the links you created via the Setapp version will work with Hookmark Pal, except the hook://file/ links will not work yet due to sandboxing restrictions. We may release a work-around for this limitation. Also as noted here: Hookmark Pal for iPhone and iPad – Hookmark :

Please note that due to Apple’s sandboxing restrictions on iOS and iPadOS, hook://file/ links are not yet supported.

We intend to try to add support for other hook:// URL schemes (i.e., Photos, Calendar and Contacts).

Great, thanks. This is so useful. Although i have decided to buy Hookmark directly now. I kept meaning to.

Oh I should also mention , as noted on https://hookproductivity.com/help/hookmark-pal-help/ :

Hookmark on Mac can create many types of custom hook:// links such as:

  • hook://addressbook: For Apple’s Contacts app.

  • hook://email/: for linking to emails in an email-client agnostic way (based on RFC email ID).

  • hook://file/: for linking to files in Finder.

  • hook://notes/

  • and more.

These schemes are listed here.

Currently, of these custom schemes, Hookmark Pal can only open hook://email and hook://notes links.

We will try to make as many custom hook:// schemes openable via Apple Shortcuts as possible.
