Error message when opening Todoist web app

Hi all,

New user to hookmark here and was trying to do some testing.

I use todoist for task tracking and would like to link the task to say an Obsidian page. I can create and copy the hook, no problem:

You can see if captures the page correctly, however, when i Later try to open that hook I get the following message.

You can’t open the application
“Todoist” because it may be
damaged or incomplete.

The Safari webapp itself seems fine so I’m not sure if it’s something I am doing wrong.

Thanks.

Welcome to Hookmark forum, @Latimer .

Do you mean when you tried to open link “Todoist…”, the error message appeared?

If so, It seems it tried to open the link in Todoist app, not in Safari app. Do you have any special setting to redirect the link to the desktop app?

Thank you

Hi @bchend

So I originally had the Todoist app installed. When I hooked a link to a task and then tried to open the link it opened it in a browser window. So I thought perhaps there’s something preventing it opening in the app so I installed the app, created the safari web app and created a new link. Then I started getting this error.

I’ll try later to recreate the above just to confirm my memory is correct.

I have nothing redirecting any links to specific apps, as far as I am aware.

Thanks,

So I uninstalled the webapp and reinstalled the desktop app. When i select a task and try to run hookmark it doesn’t find a linkable item, perhaps that’s why I switched to the webapp. Is there a script I need to install?

Did you make the web app by Safari->File->Add to Dock…? I just tried it, and everything seems to be working fine.

Since you can open this web app without any problem, is it possible that you have another bad copy of this web app?

I just created a script for Todoist, but it is not reliable.
