Copy Link copies File Name, not Link

When I click the Copy Link button within the Hookmark Context Window or the toolbar button, I no longer get a link to the file; instead, it copies only the file name.

The only way to get a link is to select “Copy As Markdown Link.”

I can’t tell if I’ve changed a setting or what’s wrong. This has been going on for at least a month now.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thank you!

Sorry about this issue, @ideasandbox .

If you copy the link, and then paste it in TextEdit, do you get the link?

No, just the title of the file. (odd, right?)

(thank you for your help)

Just want to make sure, the file is rtf?

Also, Do you have any clipboard manager running? Do you install new App recently?

What’s your Hookmark version and macOS version?

Thank you

I’m sorry, I’ve made a mistake. This seems related to Messages and the version of macOS I’m using.

When I “Copy Link” and paste it into Messages, it just shows the file name without a link.

Testing in TextEdit does reveal that Hookmark IS grabbing the link. It is also working properly in the latest Mail and Pages, and more… (I apologize I did not test it in TextEdit earlier when you requested for me to do so).

My colleague and I send Hookmark links back and forth to files throughout the day. Everything is working perfectly on her machine… however, she also isn’t up-to-date with the latest OS.

macOS - Sequoia 15.1
Messages - 14.0
Hookmark 6.4.1 (6107; integration v. 344)

Thank you!

Thank you for the info, @ideasandbox .

I can reproduce this problem, Messages of Sequoia. But it seems to be working fine on Sonoma.

It seems Apple has changed something.

I just want to add I came to the forum as I am having the same issue as @ideasandbox. However, I am specifically doing it with Safari. I just want to grab the URL of a website, and when I copy link, it now produces either the page title (in an app that doesn’t support markdown) or a markdown title link. This just started recently. I am using version 6.4.1. on Sonoma 14.6.1.
