It would be useful to be able to change the sort order in the Bookmarks window, for example by clicking on the bookmark name column header or the tags column header (and to be able to invert that order)

You can switch the Bookmark view to table view, then you can do the sorting.
The view switch button is on the left of Gear button.
You can only sort the bookmarks on the page you’re on. If you have more than one page of bookmarks and can’t quite remember exactly what to look for, a “sort all” feature would be useful.
There is of course the search bar as well, but there are probably cases where it’s just easier to scroll until you find what you’re looking for.
I would also point out that in some cases the sort is not accurate. Sorting has some odd “third state” where it’s neither ascending nor descending by the selected column, as opposed to the more usual toggle between the two options.
