Adding Hookmark links to Google Docs

I created a Hookmark link to a Pages document stored locally on my hard drive.

I wanted to paste this link into a Google Docs file using the Insert>Link command.

When I do this, Google Docs reports it as an invalid link.

Am I doing some wrong or are Hookmark links incompatible with Google Docs files?

All custom links are incompatible with Google Docs (not just hook://). That’s why we invented Copy As Universal Link as described here.

I had forgotten about Universal Links.

I created a Universal Link to an Apple Note and pasted it into a Google Doc while in my default browser, Brave.

This didn’t work. I got a message saying that Universal Links would only work with Safari.

I tested in Safari and it worked.
