Yes, ^T works – but the problem is that I don’t have the corresponding keys on my keyboard. I need to open the keyboard viewer and click onscreen. This is too cumbersome in the long run.
Now, If I could modify the ^T to something else – that would be a viable workaround!
That’s control T, so on an Ascii keyboard it should work.
All: the rare problem does indeed seem to be resolved in Hook 2.0 (not yet public beta, but barring surprises, very soon 
)
