Steps to migrate a Hook to a new Mac

Hi.

I read “How to Backup and Restore Hook Data”. If I want to transfer my Hook data to a new Mac, can I do it in the following way?

  1. Make sure the version of Hook is the same
  2. Replace the data in the following folders with the data on the new Mac

~/Library/Application\ Support/com.cogsciapps.hook
~/Library/Preferences/com.cogsciapps.hook.plist.
~/Documents/Hook

yes. We recommend Finder > compress 'ing it at the source, and uncompressing at the destination.

Best to ensure Hook is not running during the compress and uncompress.

Hook allows you to choose a different Hook folder and templates folder. Also, Hook to New creates files in a default folder , which you can configure, and those can be moved. They’re not Hook files however.

Also Make Hook File can create files that you might want to bring with you.
