# 'Copy Selection and Link' with default PDF app

Hi,

New to the app but very excited to use it. I see a possible clarification re. default apps for opening PDFs that you could add to the help page on ‘Copy Selection and Link’.

I use Skim, and made a link to some text in a PDF in Skim, but when I invoke (from hookmark) the link to the selection it just opened the PDF at the start, not the selection. It took me a while to figure out that while I use Skim for certain research, my Mac still defaults to opening PDFs in Preview. Hookmark has no ‘open with’ menu item so of course the link was being opened in the default app.

Maybe everyone else changes their defaults for PDFs and didn’t have this issue. I’ve now changed mine.
