# Best PDF app to use with hookmark

I’m curious what folks feel is the best mac PDF app for use with Hookmark at this point? I’m a long time user of PDF Expert, which I love, but it does not play great with hookmark. I still have a copy of PDF Pen Pro (by Smile) which works well, but no longer supported. This became Nitro PDF, which is an expensive subscription. Any thoughts appreciated!

PDF Pen Pro is still my default PDF app and I use it with Hookmark without any issues. Why would you want to move to another PDF app?

@rainerc Thanks… main issue is just concern that it hasn’t been updated in a long time, and at some point is rather likely to stop working.

I’m a long-time user of PDF Expert. It has a very nice “signature” feature for signing electronic documents. I agree, however, that the ability to hook to specific sections of a PDF would be nice.
Solution: I’ve started to use Skim as my default PDF reader (works better with Hookmark), keeping PDF Expert available for the occasional time when I need its specific features.
